In 2024, siblings Amara, Oderah, and Arinze came together to turn their shared passion for basketball into a mission-driven academy that would inspire and empower the next generation of athletes. Growing up in California, basketball wasn’t just a game for the trio—it was a way of life. The sport taught them lessons in teamwork, resilience, and leadership that they carried with them into their professional and personal lives.
Amara, the youngest, laid the foundation for Elite Buckets Academy by starting after-school programs in Berkeley and Piedmont. Her vision was simple but powerful: create a space where kids could learn basketball fundamentals while developing life skills. The programs quickly became a hit, offering young athletes a sense of belonging and purpose.
Seeing the potential in Amara’s initiative, her siblings, Oderah and Arinze, brought their own unique experiences to the academy. As professional basketball players who compete internationally, they have developed a deep understanding of the game at a global level. Their connections from playing overseas provided a pathway for Elite Buckets Academy to expand beyond local courts.
Together, the siblings transformed the academy into a dynamic program that connects athletes from diverse backgrounds. With local training in Berkeley and Piedmont and international opportunities like training camps and global tournaments, Elite Buckets Academy became a hub for athletic and personal development.
